ALBAQARAH (2)
"The Cow"
(Revealed at Medina, Verses 286)
In the name of Allah, The Merciful, The All-
merciful
O mankind, serve your Lord who created
you and those that were before you, that
you may become godfearing;(21)
who made the earth a couch for you and
heaven an edifice, and sent down from
heaven water, wherewith He brought forth
fruits for your provision; so do not set up
compeers to God while you know. (22)
And if you are in doubt concerning that We
have sent down on Our Servant, then
produce a Sura (chapter) like it, and call your
witnesses, apart from God, if you are
truthful.(23)
But if you do not, and you will not, then fear
the Fire whose fuel is men and stones; it is
prepared for the unbelievers.(24)
And give thou good news to those who
believe and do righteous deeds, that for
them shall be gardens underneath which
rivers flow; whenever they are provided
with any fruit therefrom, they shall say, `this
is what we were provided before', and they
will be given in semblance; and there, for
them shall be pure spouses, and therein
they shall dwell forever.(25)
God is not ashamed to give a similitude even
of a gnat or anything above it. Then, as for
the Believers, they know that it is the truth
from their Lord; but as for the unbelievers,
they say, `what does God desire by this
similitude?' Thereby He sends astray many
and thereby He guides many; but thereby He
sends none astray except the transgressors.
(26)
those who break the covenant of God after
its binding, and cut what God has
commanded should be joined, and cause
disorder in the land; those are the losers.
(27)
How do you disbelieve in God, seeing that
you were dead and He gave you life, then He
shall make you to die, then He shall give you
life, then unto Him you shall be returned.
(28)
It is He who created for you all that is in the
earth, then turned to the heaven and levelled
them seven heavens; and He has knowledge
of everything.(29)
And when thy Lord said to the angels, `I am
appointing a viceroy in the earth', they said,
`wilt Thou appoint therein one who will
cause disorder there and shed blood, while
we celebrate Thy praise and sanctify Thee?'
He said, `I know what you know not?'(30)
And He taught Adam all the names, then
presented them to the angels and said, `tell
Me the names of these, if you are
truthful.'(31)
They said, `glory be to Thee, we have no
knowledge except what Thou hast taught
us; Thou art the Knowing, the Wise.'(32)
He said, `O Adam, tell them their names.'
Then, when he had told them their names,
He said, `did I not say to you, I know the
unseen of the heavens and the earth, and I
know what you reveal and what you were
hiding.'(33)
And when We said to the angels, `prostrate
yourselves to Adam', they prostrated
themselves, except Iblis; he refused and
showed arrogance and was among the
unbelievers.(34)
And We said, `O Adam, dwell thou and thy
wife in the garden, and eat thereof easefully
where you will, but do not go near this tree,
for then you will be among the wrong-
doers.'(35)
Then the Devil caused them to slip therefrom
and brought them out of the state they
were in; and We said , `get you down as
enemy to one another; and for you in the
earth shall be an abode and goods for a
time.'(36)
Then Adam received certain Words from his
Lord, so He turned towards him; surely He is
the All-returning, the Merciful. (37)
We said, `get you down from here all
together; yet there shall come to you
guidance from Me, then whosoever follows
My guidance, no fear shall be on them, nor
shall they grieve.(38)
But those who disbelieve and give lies to
Our signs, those shall be the people of the
Fire; they shall dwell therein forever.(39)
O Children of Israel, remember My blessing
with which I blessed you, and fulfil My
covenant and I shall fulfil your covenant, and
have awe of Me.(40)

ALBAQARAH (2)
"The Cow"
(Revealed at Medina, Verses 286)
In the name of Allah, The Merciful, The All-
merciful
Alif Lam Mim (A.L.M.); (1)
this is the Book, no doubt in it, a guidance
to the godfearing, (2)
who believe without seeing, establish the
Prayer and expend of that We have provided
them; (3)
who believe in what has been sent down to
thee and what has been sent down before
thee, and they are sure about the Hereafter.
(4)
Those are upon guidance from their Lord,
and those are the ones who shall prosper.
(5)
Those who disbelieve, it is equal for them
whether thou warn them or warn them not,
they will not believe. (6)
God has set a seal on their hearts and on
their ears; and there is a covering on their
eyes; and for them shall be a big
punishment.(7)
And some men there are who say, `we
believe in God and the Last Day', but they are
no believers. (8)
They would deceive God and the Believers,
but they do not deceive any except
themselves, though they do not perceive. (9)
In their hearts is a sickness, then God
increased their sickness, and for them shall
be a painful punishment, for that they were
speaking lies. (10)
And when it is said to them, `do not cause
disorder in the land', they say, `we are only
putting things right.' (11)
Behold, they are the ones that cause
disorder, though they do not perceive. (12)
And when it is said to them, `believe as the
people believe', they say, `shall we believe as
the fools believe?' Behold, they are the fools,
but they do not know. (13)
And when they meet the Believers, they say,
`we believe'; but when they are alone with
their devils, they say, `we are with you, we
only mock.' (14)
God mocks them and leaves them in their
insolence, blindly wandering. (15)
Those are the ones that have bought error
in place of guidance, and their commerce
has not profited them, and they are not
guided.(16)
Their likeness is as the likeness of him who
kindled a fire, and when it lit about him, God
took away their light, and left them in
darkness, unseeing. (17)
Deaf, dumb and blind, they do not return.
(18)
Or it is as a cloud-burst from the heaven, in
which is darkness, thunder and lightning;
they put their fingers in their ears against
the thunderclaps, for fear of death; but God
has encompassed the unbelievers. (19)
The lightning almost snatches away their
eyes; whenever it gives them light, they walk
in it, and when it darkens over them, they
halt; had God willed, He would have taken
away their ears and their eyes; God is
powerful over everything.(20)

12 Rasulullah (ﷺ)'s Favorite
Foods...
1) Milk: “Milk wipes away heat
from the heart just as the finger.”
It strengthens the back, improves
the brain, renews vision and
drives away forgetfulness.
2) Honey: "Honey is a remedy for
every illness and the Qur'an is a
remedy for all illness of the mind
therefore i recommend to you
both remedies, the Qur’an and
honey." [Bukhari]
3) Figs: “If i had to mention a fruit
that descended from paradise i
would say this is it because the
paradisacal fruits do not have pits.
Eat from these fruits for they
prevent hemorrhoids, piles and
help gout.” [Bukhari]
4) Dates: “Whoever takes seven
ajwa dates in the morning will not
be affected by magic of poison on
that day.” [Bukhari]
Rasulullah ( ﷺ) said that a house
without dates has no food.
5) Barley: "Good in fever while
used in a soup form."
6) Melon: “None of your women
who are pregnant and eat of
water melon will fail to produce
off spring that is good in
countenance and good in
character.”
7) Grapes: “It purifies the blood,
provides vigor and health,
strengthens the kidneys and
clears the bowels.”
8) Mushrooms: Rasulullah (ﷺ) said
that
“The mushroom is a good cure
for the eyes.”
9) Pomegranate: “Cleanses you of
saitan and evil aspirations
for 40 days”
10) Vinegar: Rasulullah (ﷺ) used to
eat with olive oil.
(Thats now a fashion in elite
Italian restaurants).
11) Olive Oil: "Important for skin
and hair treatment, delays old age
and treats inflammation of the
stomach."
12) Water: Rasulullah (ﷺ) said,
“The best drink in this world is
water; when you are thirsty drink
it by sips and not gulps, gulping
produces sickness of the liver.”
Note: As Muslims we are fortunate
enough to obtain this knowledge
and include these foods in our
diet. ALLAH Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
has blessed us with many good
foods.
Alhamdulillah most of the Prophet
( ﷺ)’s favorite foods are my favorite
also... :))) Subhana ALLAH.

Aaron (~2300-2400 B.C.) ﻫﺎﺭﻭﻥ
Biblical version of Haroon of the Islamic
literature, but not exactly so. He is depicted
in the Torah as the one who instituted calf-
worship: “And Aaron said to them, ‘Take off
the rings of gold which are in the ears of
your wives, your sons, and your daughters,
and bring them to me.’ So all the people took
off the rings of gold which were in their
ears, and brought them to Aaron. And he
received the gold at their hand, and
fashioned it with a graving tool, and made a
molten calf; and they said, ‘These are your
gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of
the land of Egypt!’ When Aaron saw this, he
built an altar before it; and Aaron made
proclamation and said, ‘Tomorrow shall be a
feast to the Lord.’” (Ex., 32: 2-5). This was
despite the fact that Aaron and his progeny
had been appointed earlier as the chief
priest whose priestly garment alone
(including a turban) was specified in detail
occupying an entire chapter (Ex., ch. 28).
The Torah also attributes the miracle of the
rod turning into snake to Aaron: “So Moses
and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as the
Lord commanded; Aaron cast down his rod
before Pharaoh and his servants, and it
became a serpent” (Ex., 7: 10). Similarly, the
miracle of “frogs all over the place,” is also
attributed to Aaron instead of Moses: “And
the Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to Aaron,
‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over
the rivers, over the canals, and over the
pools, and cause frogs to come upon the
land of Egypt.’” (Ex., 8: 5)
According to the Bible, Aaron does not seem
to go well with Moses either. He is unhappy
that Moses married a Chusite woman,
although the impression one gets from
Num. 12: 1-15, (as pointed out by the New
Catholic Encyclopedia, Second Edition, Gale
Pub.), is that he is the “envy of Moses as the
instrument of God’s revelation.” And,
according to Num 20: 24 he is “forbidden to
enter the Promised Land because of the
incident at Meriba, where he sinned against
the Lord” (Ibid).
The Encyclopedia Judaica, (Second Edition,
Gale Publication) confirms Aaron’s
introduction of calf-worship among the
Israelites after their escape from Egypt: “It
was during his brother’s prolonged absence
on the mount that, yielding to popular
insistence, he fashioned a golden calf that
became a cause of apostasy (ch. 32). On the
one hand, the text stresses the grave
responsibility of Aaron in this incident. He
makes no attempt to dissuade the would-be
idolaters, but himself issues instructions,
produces the molten image, builds an altar,
and proclaims a religious festival (32:2–5).”
Obviously, this is not the Haroon of the
Qur’an wherein he is declared (Taha, 20:
90), as actually preventing the idolatrous act.
Yet, he died a popular figure. Mighty Moses
might have brought the Israelis out of Egypt,
but Aaron is the preferred priest. Says The
Encyclopedia Judaica: “Aaron was one of
those who died not on account of sin ‘but
through the machinations of the
serpent.’” (Sif. Deut. 338–9). When Aaron
died “all the house of Israel” wept for him
(Num. 20:29), while after the death of
Moses, the stern leader who reprimanded
them by harsh words, only part of the
people, “the men,” bewailed him (Sifra
45d).”

Aaron (~2300-2400 B.C.) ﻫﺎﺭﻭﻥ
Biblical version of Haroon of the Islamic
literature, but not exactly so. He is depicted
in the Torah as the one who instituted calf-
worship: “And Aaron said to them, ‘Take off
the rings of gold which are in the ears of
your wives, your sons, and your daughters,
and bring them to me.’ So all the people took
off the rings of gold which were in their
ears, and brought them to Aaron. And he
received the gold at their hand, and
fashioned it with a graving tool, and made a
molten calf; and they said, ‘These are your
gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of
the land of Egypt!’ When Aaron saw this, he
built an altar before it; and Aaron made
proclamation and said, ‘Tomorrow shall be a
feast to the Lord.’” (Ex., 32: 2-5). This was
despite the fact that Aaron and his progeny
had been appointed earlier as the chief
priest whose priestly garment alone
(including a turban) was specified in detail
occupying an entire chapter (Ex., ch. 28).
The Torah also attributes the miracle of the
rod turning into snake to Aaron: “So Moses
and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as the
Lord commanded; Aaron cast down his rod
before Pharaoh and his servants, and it
became a serpent” (Ex., 7: 10). Similarly, the
miracle of “frogs all over the place,” is also
attributed to Aaron instead of Moses: “And
the Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to Aaron,
‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over
the rivers, over the canals, and over the

Dear Make-up,
You covered my face like a delicate mask, you
taunted the wondering eye, and completed
every look, I loved you.
You gave me the confidence I needed and the
beauty I always wanted but not that I don't
have you, I'm kind of sad.
I'm happy because I not get to show who I
am without a mask, what I truly look like for
every second of the day. I'm happy because
when I do dress up it will be exciting and for
the only mad I will ever love besides the
Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam and my father. I'm happy because this
feels right. BUT....
I know that I don't get as many compliments
or as many perspective mother-in-laws glares.
I know that getting married isn't going to be
the easiest. I know that sometimes when I
look in the mirror, I might reflest on how
much better I would look if I had a dab of
blush, a little mascara, and tinted moisturizer.
BUT, I'm happy :)

In conclusion, the noble position of women in
Islam can be summarized by the following
saying of the Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam:
"The world and all things in the world are
precious, but the most precious thing in the
world is a virtuous woman."

April Fool - A dishonest Tradition [As-Sunnah]:
1st April - a day when people lie, play jokes
and mock in the name of entertainment. This
ugly practice of lying, which is considered to
be merely a humor, is known to have caused
great harm to many. Even trauma and deaths.
Still this dishonest tradition is not only
practiced among the common masses, but
also newspapers and magazines participate
in it by publishing false news and untrue
stories on the first day of April!
Much is said about the origin of this practice,
however what concerns the most to the
Muslims is that it is a tradition which directly
contradicts the teachings and morals of Islam.
Lying is a characteristic of hypocrisy and
Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)
strictly forbade lying at all times. He (sallallahu
alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Let he who truly
believes in Allah and the Last Day speak good
or be silent.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee] Moreover,
he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) has specifically
cursed the person who lies to make people
laugh, he said: “Woe be on one who speaks
and lies in order to make people laugh, woe
be on him.” [Abu Dawood]
The above Ahaadeeth show the gravity of
participating in the false tradition of April
Fool, which the Western tradition appreciates
and encourages claiming that it brings joy
and amusement, whereas the Prophet
(sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) forbade lying and
deceiving even if the intention of the person
is to amuse people.
Abd al-Rahman Ibn Abi Laylaa said: “The
companions of the Messenger of Allah
(sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) told us that they
were traveling with the Messenger of Allah
(sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam). A man among
them fell asleep and some of them went and
took his arrows. When the man woke up, he
got alarmed (because his arrows were
missing) and the people laughed. The Prophet
(sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “What are
you laughing at?” They said, “Nothing, except
that we took the arrows and he got alarmed.”
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-
sallam) said: “It is not permissible for a
Muslim to frighten another Muslim.” [Abu
Dawood (5004) and Musnad Ahmad.
Authenticated by Shaikh al-Albanee in Saheeh
al-Jamee (7658)]
He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) described the
severe punishments for the liars and said: “I
saw (in a dream), two men came to me. They
said, 'The person, the one whose cheek you
saw being torn away (from the mouth to the
ear) was a liar and used to tell lies and the
people would report those lies on his
authority till they spread all over the world. So
he will be punished like that till the Day of
Resurrection.'” [Saheeh al-Bukharee (vol. 8,
no: 118)]
May Allah protect us from indulging ourselves
in such dishonest activities and may He give
us the strength to withstand such practices
when they tend to infect our Muslim Society.
Aameen!

HEARTS FIND PEACE IN THE REMEMBRANCE OF
ALLAH
According to research by David B. Larson, of
the American National Health Research Center,
and his team, comparisons of devout and
non-religious Americans have given very
surprising results. For instance, religious
people suffer 60% less heart disease than
those with little or no religious belief, the
suicide rate among them is 100% lower, they
suffer far lower levels of high blood pressure,
and this ratio is 7:1 among smokers.65
It was reported in one study published in the
International Journal of Psychiatry in
Medicine, an important scientific source in the
world of medicine, that people who describe
themselves as having no religious beliefs
become ill more frequently and have shorter
life spans. According to the results of the
research, those with no beliefs are twice as
likely to suffer stomach-intestine diseases
than believers, and their mortality rate from
respiratory diseases is 66% times higher than
that of believers.
Secular psychologists tend to refer to similar
figures as "psychological effects." This means
that belief raises peoples' spirits, and this
contributes to health. This explanation may
indeed be reasonable, but a more striking
conclusion emerges when the subject is
examined. Belief in Allah is much stronger
than any other psychological influence. The
wide-ranging research into the connection
between religious belief and physical health
carried out by Dr. Herbert Benson of the
Harvard Medical Faculty has produced
surprising conclusions in this area. Despite
not being a believer himself, Dr. Benson has
concluded that worship and belief in Allah
have a more positive effect on human health
than that observed in anything else. Benson
states that he has concluded that no belief
provides as much mental peace as belief in
Allah.66
What is the reason for this connection
between belief and the human soul and
body? The conclusion reached by the secular
researcher Benson is, in his own words, that
the human body and mind are regulated to
believe in Allah.67
This fact, which the world of medicine has
slowly begun to appreciate, is a secret
revealed in the Qur'an in these words: "… Only
in the remembrance of Allah can the heart
find peace." (Qur'an, 13:28) The reason why
those who believe in Allah, who pray to and
trust in Him, are psychologically and physically
healthier is that they behave in accordance
with the purpose of their creation.
Philosophies and systems which contradict
human creation always lead to pain and
unhappiness.
Modern medicine is now tending towards the
realization of this truth. As Patrick Glynn put it:
"[S]cientific research in psychology over the
past twenty-five years has demonstrated that,
… religious belief is one of the most
consistent correlates of overall mental health
and happiness.

It is not permissible to look at pictures of
women, because Allah has commanded the
believers to lower their gaze. Allah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze
(from looking at forbidden things), and
protect their private parts (from illegal sexual
acts). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is
All‑Aware of what they do”
[al-Noor 24:30]
This was also enjoined by His Messenger
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It
was narrated that Jareer said: I asked the
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of
Allah be upon him) about a sudden accidental
glance. He said, “Avert your gaze.” Narrated by
Abu Dawood, al-Nikaah, 1836; classed as
saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood,
no. 1880.
Hence it is obligatory to follow the command
of Allah and His Messenger. Allah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
“And let those who oppose the Messenger’s
(Muhammad’s) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah
legal ways, orders, acts of worship,
statements) (among the sects) beware, lest
some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions,
earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant)
should befall them or a painful torment be
inflicted on them”

It is not permissible to look at pictures of
women, because Allah has commanded the
believers to lower their gaze. Allah says
(interpretation of the meaning):
“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze
(from looking at forbidden things), and
protect their private parts (from illegal sexual
acts). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is
All‑Aware of what they do”
[al-Noor 24:30]
This was also enjoined by His Messenger
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It
was narrated that Jareer said: I asked the
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of
Allah be upon him) about a sudden accidental
glance. He said, “Avert your gaze.” Narrated by

Hadith Qudsi 24:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah
be pleased with him), who said that the
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
If Allah has loved a servant [of His] He calls
Gabriel (on whom be peace) and says: I love
So-and-so, therefore love him. He (the Prophet
pbuh) said: So Gabriel loves him. Then he
(Gabriel) calls out in heaven, saying: Allah

established for him on earth. And if Allah has
abhorred a servant [of His], He calls Gabriel
and says: I abhor So-and-so, therefore abhor
him. So Gabriel abhors him. Then Gabriel calls

So-and-so, therefore abhor him. He (the

What is the Islamic view of marriage?
"And among His signs is this, that He created
for you mates from among yourselves, that
you may dwell in tranquillity with them, and
He has put love and mercy between your
(hearts): Verily in that on Signs for those who
reflect.." Holy Qur’an 30:21
It is the stern command of Islam that the
sexual instinct, natural to man should attain
consummation only through wedlock.
Matrimony is a holy act. Celibacy has been
strongly prohibited. Marriage is viewed by
Islam as a sacred contract. The dos and don’ts
that the two mates ought to adopt in
matrimonial life have been prescribed by
Islam. Obeying these stipulations, man and
woman can ensure a successful and blissful
married life and a peacefullife after death.
• The resources of this world are for you to
enjoy. The best wealth you can have in this
world is a good wife.
• The best wealth that a man can have in this
world is a good wife. A good wife is one who
is a joy to look at, one who obeys her
husband’s commands and one who protects
the wealth during his absence.
• The best of men are those who treat their
wiveswell.

This is the direct story from the mouth of
Prophet Muhammad(SAW). What a
magnificant plan Allah(SWT) had in store for
the House of Ibraheim(AS):
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet said, "May
Allah bestow His
Mercy on the mother of Ishmael! Had she not
hastened (to fill
her water−skin with water from the Zamzam
well). Zamzam would
have been a stream flowing on the surface of
the earth." Ibn
`Abbas further added, "(The Prophet)
Abraham brought Ishmael
and his mother (to Mecca) and she was
suckling Ishmael and she
had a water−skin with her.'
4.583:
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The first lady to use a
girdle was the
mother of Ishmael. She used a girdle so that
she might hide
her tracks from Sarah. Abraham brought her
and her son Ishmael
while she was suckling him, to a place near
the Ka`ba under a
tree on the spot of Zamzam, at the highest
place in the
mosque. During those days there was nobody
in Mecca, nor was
there any water So he made them sit over
there and placed near
them a leather bag containing some dates,
and a small
water−skin containing some water, and set
out homeward.
Ishmael's mother followed him saying, "O
Abraham! Where are
you going, leaving us in this valley where
there is no person
whose company we may enjoy, nor is there
anything (to enjoy)?"
She repeated that to him many times, but he
did not look back
at her Then she asked him, "Has Allah ordered
you to do so?"
He said, "Yes." She said, "Then He will not
neglect us," and
returned while Abraham proceeded onwards,
and on reaching the
Thaniya where they could not see him, he
faced the Ka`ba, and
raising both hands, invoked Allah saying the
following
prayers: 'O our Lord! I have made some of my
offspring dwell
in a valley without cultivation, by Your Sacred
House (Ka`ba
at Mecca) in order, O our Lord, that they may
offer prayer
perfectly. So fill some hearts among men with
love towards
them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits,
so that they may
give thanks.' (1
4.37) Ishmael's mother went on suckling
Ishmael and drinking
from the water (she had). When the water in
the water−skin had
all been used up, she became thirsty and her
child also became
thirsty. She started looking at him (i.e.
Ishmael) tossing in
agony; She left him, for she could not endure
looking at him,
and found that the mountain of Safa was the
nearest mountainto her on that land. She
stood on it and started looking at
the valley keenly so that she might see
somebody, but she
could not see anybody. Then she descended
from Safa and when
she reached the valley, she tucked up her
robe and ran in the
valley like a person in distress and trouble, till
she crossed
the valley and reached the Marwa mountain
where she stood and
started looking, expecting to see somebody,
but she could not
see anybody. She repeated that (running
between Safa and
Marwa) seven times." The Prophet said, "This
is the source of
the tradition of the walking of people
between them (i.e. Safa
and Marwa). When she reached the Marwa
(for the last time) she
heard a voice and she asked herself to be
quiet and listened
attentively. She heard the voice again and
said, 'O, (whoever
you may be)! You have made me hear your
voice; have you got
something to help me?" And behold! She saw
an angel at the
place of Zamzam, digging the earth with his
heel (or his
wing), till water flowed from that place. She
started to make
something like a basin around it, using her
hand in this way,
and started filling her water−skin with water
with her hands,
and the water was flowing out after she had
scooped some of
it." The Prophet added, "May Allah bestow
Mercy on Ishmael's
mother! Had she let the Zamzam (flow
without trying to control
it) (or had she not scooped from that water)
(to fill her
water−skin), Zamzam would have been a
stream flowing on the
surface of the earth." The Prophet further
added, "Then she
drank (water) and suckled her child. The
angel said to her,
'Don't be afraid of being neglected, for this is
the House of
Allah which will be built by this boy and his
father, and
Allah never neglects His people.' The House
(i.e. Ka`ba) at
that time was on a high place resembling a
hillock, and when
torrents came, they flowed to its right and
left. She lived in
that way till some people from the tribe of
Jurhum or a family
from Jurhum passed by her and her child, as
they (i.e. the
Jurhum people) were coming through the
way of Kada'. They
landed in the lower part of Mecca where they
saw a bird that
had the habit of flying around water and not
leaving it. They
said, 'This bird must be flying around water,
though we know
that there is no water in this valley.' They sent
one or twomessengers who discovered the
source of water, and returned to
inform them of the water. So, they all came
(towards the
water)." The Prophet added, "Ishmael's
mother was sitting near
the water. They asked her, 'Do you allow us to
stay with you?"
She replied, 'Yes, but you will have no right to
possess the
water.' They agreed to that." The Prophet
further said,
"Ishmael's mother was pleased with the
whole situation as she
used to love to enjoy the company of the
people. So, they
settled there, and later on they sent for their
families who
came and settled with them so that some
families became
permanent residents there. The child (i.e.
Ishmael) grew up
and learnt Arabic from them and (his virtues)
caused them to
love and admire him as he grew up, and
when he reached the age
of puberty they made him marry a woman
from amongst them.
After Ishmael's mother had died, Abraham
came after Ishmael's
marriage in order to see his family that he
had left before,
but he did not find Ishmael there. When he
asked Ishmael's
wife about him, she replied, 'He has gone in
search of our
livelihood.' Then he asked her about their way
of living and
their condition, and she replied, 'We are living
in misery; we
are living in hardship and destitution,'
complaining to him.
He said, 'When your husband returns, convey
my salutation to
him and tell him to change the threshold of
the gate (of his
house).' When Ishmael came, he seemed to
have felt something
unusual, so he asked his wife, 'Has anyone
visited you?' She
replied, 'Yes, an old man of so−and−so
description came and
asked me about you and I informed him, and
he asked about our
state of living, and I told him that we were
living in a
hardship and poverty.' On that Ishmael said,
'Did he advise
you anything?' She replied, 'Yes, he told me to
convey his
salutation to you and to tell you to change the
threshold of
your gate.' Ishmael said, 'It was my father,
and he has
ordered me to divorce you. Go back to your
family.' So,
Ishmael divorced her and married another
woman from amongst
them (i.e. Jurhum). Then Abraham stayed
away from them for a
period as long as Allah wished and called on
them again but
did not find Ishmael. So he came to Ishmael's
wife and asked
her about Ishmael. She said, 'He has gone in
search of ourlivelihood.' Abraham asked her,
'How are you getting on?'
asking her about their sustenance and living.
She replied, 'We
are prosperous and well−off (i.e. we have
everything in
abundance).' Then she thanked Allah'
Abraham said, 'What kind
of food do you eat?' She said. 'Meat.' He said,
'What do you
drink?' She said, 'Water." He said, "O Allah!
Bless their meat
and water." The Prophet added, "At that time
they did not have
grain, and if they had grain, he would have
also invoked Allah
to bless it." The Prophet added, "If somebody
has only these
two things as his sustenance, his health and
disposition will
be badly affected, unless he lives in Mecca."
The Prophet
added," Then Abraham said Ishmael's wife,
"When your husband
comes, give my regards to him and tell him
that he should keep
firm the threshold of his gate.' When Ishmael
came back, he
asked his wife, 'Did anyone call on you?' She
replied, 'Yes, a
good−looking old man came to me,' so she
praised him and
added. 'He asked about you, and I informed
him, and he asked
about our livelihood and I told him that we
were in a good
condition.' Ishmael asked her, 'Did he give
you any piece of
advice?' She said, 'Yes, he told me to give his
regards to you
and ordered that you should keep firm the
threshold of your
gate.' On that Ishmael said, 'It was my father,
and you are
the threshold (of the gate). He has ordered
me to keep you
with me.' Then Abraham stayed away from
them for a period as
long as Allah wished, and called on them
afterwards. He saw
Ishmael under a tree near Zamzam,
sharpening his arrows. When
he saw Abraham, he rose up to welcome him
(and they greeted
each other as a father does with his son or a
son does with
his father). Abraham said, 'O Ishmael! Allah
has given me an
order.' Ishmael said, 'Do what your Lord has
ordered you to
do.' Abraham asked, 'Will you help me?'
Ishmael said, 'I will
help you.' Abraham said, Allah has ordered me
to build a house
here,' pointing to a hillock higher than the
land surrounding
it." The Prophet added, "Then they raised the
foundations of
the House (i.e. the Ka`ba). Ishmael brought the
stones and
Abraham was building, and when the walls
became high, Ishmael
brought this stone and put it for Abraham
who stood over it
and carried on building, while Ishmael was
handing him thestones, and both of them
were saying, 'O our Lord! Accept
(this service) from us, Verily, You are the All
−Hearing, the
All−Knowing.' The Prophet added, "Then both
of them went on
building and going round the Ka`ba saying: O
our Lord ! Accept
(this service) from us, Verily, You are the All
−Hearing, the
All−Knowing." (2.127)

The Benefit of Ayatul Kursi...
It is reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, on the
authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) who said:
"Allah's Messenger (pbuh) deputized me to
keep Sadaqa (al-Fitr) of Ramadan.
A comer came and started taking handfuls of
the foodstuff (of the Sadaqa) (stealthily). I
took hold of him and said, "By Allah, I will take
you to Allah's Mesenger." He said, "I am needy
and have many dependents, and I am in great
need."
I released him, and in the morning Allah's
Messenger (pbuh) asked me, "What did your
prisoner do yesterday?" I said, "0 Allah's
Messenger! He complained of being needy
and of having many dependents, and so I felt
pity for him and let him go." Allah's Messenger
(pbuh) said, "Indeed, he told you a lie and he
will come again."
I believed that he would come again as Allah's
Messenger (pbuh) had told me; so, I waited
for him watchfully. When he (returned, and)
began stealing handfuls of food, I caught hold
of him again and said, "I will definitely take
you to Allah's Messenger." He said, "Leave me,
for I am very needy and have many
dependents. I promise I will not come back
again." Again I felt pity for him and let him go.
In the morning Allah's Messenger (pbuh)
asked me, "What did your prisoner do?" I
replied, "0 Allah's Messenger! He complained
of his great need and of having many
dependents, so I took pity on him and set him
free." Allah's Messenger said, "Verily, he told
you a lie and he will return."
I waited for him attentively for the third time,
and when he (came and) started stealing
handfuls of the food, I caught hold of him and
said, "I will surely take you to Allah's
Messenger, as it is the third time you
promised not to return, yet you have broken
your promise and come." He said, "(Forgive
me and) I will teach you some words with
which Allah will benefit you." I asked, "What
are they?" He replied, "Whenever you go to
bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi '
Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Hayy-ul Qayyum...'
until the end of the verse. (If you do so), Allah
will appoint a guard for you who will stay
with you, and no Satan would come near you
until morning." And so again I released him.
In the morning, Allah's Messenger(pbuh)
asked, "What did your prisoner do
yesterday?" I replied, "He claimed that he
would teach me some words by which Allah
would benefit me, so I let him go." Allah's
Messenger (pbuh) asked, "What are they?" I
replied, "He said to me, 'Whenever you go to
bed, recite Ayat-alKursi
from the beginning to the end. He further
said to me, '(If you do so), Allah will appoint a
guard for you who will stay with you, and no
(Satan) would come near you till
morning.' (Abu Hurairah or another sub-
narrator) added that they (the Companions)
were very keen to do good deeds. The
Prophet (pbuh) said, "He spoke the truth,
although he is a liar. Do you know who you
were speaking to these last three nights, 0
Abu Hurairah?" Abu Hurairah said, "No." He
said, "It was Satan."
the man (thief is satan) who came and stole
the food and Abu Hurraira (ra) was deceived
satan ( the deceiver) may Allah curse him
always.
In short satan and his helpers ( jinns) can
come in different shapes and forms to
deceive the children of Adam (pbuh).)
Sahih al-Bukhari (2311), al-Bayhaqi's "Dala'i!
an-Nubuwwah" (7/107108),an-Nasa'i"s "Amal
al-Yawm wal-Laylah" (964-965) and

Charity of the smile
Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him urges
us to smile as he says in the prophetic hadith”
your smile for others is a charity”[Hadith
Sahih- by Al-Albany].
Smiling Helps us Stay Positive because When
we smile our body is sending the rest of us a
message that "Life is Good …
Psychologists say that Smiling is a great way
to make our body to function better and to
improve our health, stress level, and our
attractiveness; they say that smile can give
others more than any physical matter.
Therefore, they believe that Smiling is just one
fun way to live longer and they give us some
consequences of smiling:
1. People are drawn to those who smile as
there is an attraction factor to cheerful
people.
2. Smiling Helps us Stay Positive because
When we smile our body is sending the rest
of us a message that "Life is Good!".
3. Smiling makes us Seem Successful because
smiling people appear more confident.
4. Smiling boosts our Immune System
because it helps the immune system to work
better.

Cool Tips!
Connecting to Prayer
Praying five times a day can be a struggle for
adult Muslims, but an even greater one for
young people. At a time when texting and
other technology offer fast-paced distraction,
encouraging our youth to establish Salah can
seem impossible.
But this pillar of Islam keeps us all grounded
in our faith. It is that necessary daily reminder
of Who we are accountable to, as well as Who
is our greatest Benefactor. It keeps us
connected to Allah in all circumstances, and it
is a gift and obligation we must pass on to
young Muslims.
Here are a few ways to start that process.
1. Set the example
As is the case with all other good habits,
parents, mentors, teachers, and others young
Muslims look up to must be praying
themselves. But we need to not only be
offering our prayers. We must also truly
reflect the level of concentration and
commitment it takes, by praying on time,
doing our best to focus, and offering the
prayers diligently.
2. Establish prayer in the home
Kids learn faith first and foremost from the
family and within the home. This is where
prayer as a way of connecting to Allah needs
to be discussed and shown in practice. Make
it a habit to pray in congregation when going
to the Masjid is not possible. Avoid having
everyone pray in their own little corner of the
house. Start today by designating one space
of the home for this purpose.
3. Don’t discourage even small steps toward
prayer
Prayer is a long-term commitment that
requires the kind of dedication that’s hard to
muster for many older people, let alone young
people distracted by the ding of texts on their
phone or other issues. Praise even the
performance of a short, two-Rakat prayer,
and encourage youth to take it to the next
level.
4. Don’t discount strength in numbers
Whenever possible, pray in congregation with
other Muslims outside of the family, especially
other youth. This can be at weekend school,
or even joining one of the prayers at a full-
time Islamic school with the administration’s
permission. This will show that prayer isn’t
something "weird" that only you and your
family do. Rather, it is something other young
Muslims do regularly, as well.
5. Make prayer time parent time
Spend a few minutes after each prayer with
your young Muslim connecting, asking or
answering questions about an issue of
concern, or simply making it a time for hugs,
jokes, and lighthearted hanging out.

Quran [07-191]
Do they associate with Him those who create
nothing and they are [themselves] created?
Quran [35-13]
He causes the night to enter the day, and He
causes the day to enter the night and has
subjected the sun and the moon - each
running [its course] for a specified term. That
is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs
sovereignty. And those whom you invoke
other than Him do not possess [as much as]
the membrane of a date seed
Quran [39-03]
Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion.
And those who take protectors besides Him
[say], "We only worship them that they may
bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed,
Allah will judge between them concerning
that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does
not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed]
disbeliever.

Quran [07-191]
Do they associate with Him those who create
nothing and they are [themselves] created?
Quran [35-13]
He causes the night to enter the day, and He
causes the day to enter the night and has
subjected the sun and the moon - each
running [its course] for a specified term. That
is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs
sovereignty. And those whom you invoke
other than Him do not possess [as much as]
the membrane of a date seed

Hadith 2797, Kitab al-Jihad, Sahih al-Bukhari
Abu al-Yaman from al-Zuhri from Sa'id ibn al-
Musayyab narrated from Abu Hurayrah: The
Prophet said: "By Him [God] in Whose Hands
my soul is: Were it not for some men amongst
the Believers [Muslims] who dislike to be left
behind me and whom I cannot provide with
means of conveyance, I would certainly never
remain behind any Sariyah [battalion, military
unit] going out for jihad [struggle, in this case
armed struggle] in the Path of God [as
ordained by God in the Qur'an]. By Him in
Whose hands my soul is: I would love to be
martyred [fighting] in the path of God and
then come back to life and be martyred again,
and then come back to life and be martyred
again."

♦♦♦ Beautiful woman, Who wanted to get
married ♦♦♦
There was this beautiful woman, who wanted
to get married, but she wanted a very pious
husband, so she said that she’ll marry the
man who recites the whole Quran every
single day, fasts for the whole year and stays
awake and worships Allah all throughout the
night.
She was a very beautiful woman, and a lot of
suitors wanted to marry her, but they knew
they couldn’t fulfil the conditions she set. Until
this one man stepped forward and said he
could fulfil them. So the Imam got both of
them married.
After the first night of the marriage, the wife
sees that the husband doesn’t recite the
whole of the Quran, nor does he fast, nor
does he stay awake in the worship of Allah,
she decided to let it roll on for a few weeks to
see if there were any changes, there weren’t,
so she filed a complaint and asked for a
divorce.
They are both taken in front of the judge, and
the judge asked, ‘What were the conditions of
the marriage?’ the man replied ‘They were for
me to recite the whole Quran daily, keep fast
for the whole year and to worship Allah all
throughout the night.’
The Judge asked, ‘ did you fulfil them? The
man calmly answered, ‘…yes.’
The judge answers, ‘you lie, your wife has
said that you don’t, that’s why she’s asking
for a divorce’.
But the man insisted that he had fulfilled the
conditions, so the judge asked, ‘did you recite
the full Quran everyday?’ The man answered
yes. The Judge, baffled asked, ‘how? How can
you do that?’
The man coolly answered, ‘I recite Surah
Ikhlas three times a day and according to
Prophet Muhammad (saw), reciting Surah
Ikhlas three times is equivalent to reciting the
whole Quran.’
The Judge was intrigued, so he asked, ‘how
did you fast the whole year?’
The man answered, ‘ I fasted for the whole
month of Ramadan, then kept another six
fasts in the month of Shawwal, according to
Prophet Muhammad (saw), keeping all of the
fast of Ramadan then keeping six fasts in the
month of Shawwal, is as if you have fasted for
the whole year.’
The Judge remained silent, he couldn’t give a
reply saying the man was wrong, so finally he
asked, ‘ how did you stay awake all night and
worship Allah, when your wife saw you
sleeping?’ The Judge thought the man
wouldn’t be able to answer this one,
But the man, cool as a cucumber answered, ‘I
prayed Salatul Isha with jamaat, then the next
day prayed Salatul Fajr with jamaat, according
to Prophet Muhammad (saw), the one who
prays Salatul Isha and Salatul Fajr with jamaat,
it is as if he had stayed up all night
worshipping Allah.’
The Judge sat there looking at the man; the
final verdict was about to be released…
He said to the man and his wife, ‘…go, just go,
there is nothing wrong with this marriage’…
